Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What browser types are supported?

A: The application system is designed to work with most browsers, including Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, and Chrome. We recommend you always use the latest version of any browser to ensure our pages display properly.

Q: What is your cookies and privacy Statement?

A: Session cookies are stored in memory and are only available during an active session, in other words, while you are on the web site. They do not permanently record data and are not stored on your computer's hard drive. Session cookies do not give the web site access to anything else on your system, including any private information about you. Unlike persistent (stored) cookies, which are stored on your hard drive for a length of time set by the web site, session cookies are cached (stored in memory) while you are visiting the web site and are deleted from your cache when you leave the web site. If we did not use session cookies, navigating through the application process would be cumbersome and the system would forget who you are as you attempt to navigate from page to page through the application process.

Q: The system is asking me to login again and says my session has timed out. What does this mean?

A: For security reasons, the application system will automatically log you out after 60 minutes. We recommend saving your work as frequently as possible. In the event you are logged out, simply log back in with your username and password and resume the application process.

Q: I have forgotten my login information and the system has locked me out. What should I do?

A: If you have been locked out of the system, simply close your browser and then reopen it and you will be able to log back in. If you do not remember your password, please click "Forgot Login Information" on the login page and follow the instructions to reset your password. If you are still unable to login, please email Recruitment@septa.org. Please include your full name and street address.

Q: How do I copy and paste my resume or CV?

A: The application system cannot accept a resume or CV as an attachment. Candidates must copy the text from their resume or CV and paste it into the appropriate field. Please note, the formatting from your resume or CV will not be preserved. We strongly recommend, after pasting your information, that you review it and, if necessary, adjust formatting, spacing, and any large blocks of white space.

Q: How do I update my work history, education, mailing address and/or phone number?

A: If you need to update any personal information on your candidate profile, please login and click on the "Edit Profile" link on your candidate homepage, update the appropriate fields on your candidate information form, and then save the changes. Your changes will be applied automatically to all of your applications in the system. There is no need to reapply for a position.

Q: I am having problems that the FAQs do not address. What should I do?

A: If you are experiencing problems with the online registration and/or application process, please email Recruitment@septa.org. Please include your full name and street address.

Q: What should I expect after submitting my application?

A: All applicants will receive an email that confirms receipt of your job application. The email will be sent to the address provided in your profile. If you have not received a confirmation email, please confirm your application was submitted in the "View History" section and check your email spam folder. Please contact Recruitment@septa.org for assistance. Please include your full name and street address.

If you are chosen to move forward in the application process, you will be contacted via email regarding any necessary testing (if required), interviews, or other pertinent information.
